Do's & Don'ts

Do’s:

  1. Always follow the instructions given by your group leader & guides.
  2. On slippery slopes take smaller steps while bending the knees & ducking the body.
  3. On slippery slopes keep distance between you & the person in front of you.
  4. Mind the branch or plant that you are holding. There could be a insect there.
  5. Carry all waste back out of the forests.
  6. While crossing rivers or streams brace your feet properly at the bed.
  7. Wear pre-used sports shoes to avoid blisters.

Don'ts:

  1. Don’t put much weight on plants & branches.
  2. Never jump over rocks or rush to over take. Wet rocks are very slippery.
  3. Don’t light fire or cigarettes.
  4. Don’t litter the forests with plastic & such other wrappers.
  5. Whistling & shouting may distract wild animals & make them attack.
  6. Don’t try to make your own path as there could be insects or reptiles there.
  7. Don’t sway away from the group.
  8. Do not wear clothes with vibrant colors.

Clothing: Khaki or olive-green or brown clothing would be suitable. White or bright colors are too conspicuous and tend to scare animals. Round neck & full sleeved T-shirts are advisable. Long trousers are most essential. Consult the organisers for better options.


Things to Carry: Insect repellent cream (eg. Odomos), Extra set of clothes to be water proofed, water bottle, specific medicines if any. Mobiles, camera & other valuables at are your own risk. Waterproof them properly.
